If you live, work or simply have visited Historic Roswell, GA you’ve probably seen Mr. Blue. He lives in the little red house behind the Chevron gas station on Oxbo Rd., just around the corner from our old office location on Sloan Street. Mr. Blue has severe arthritis and walks at an extremely slow pace making his day to day activities very difficult.

The Burton Energy Group team, lead by Ed Figeroa, decided we wanted to help. We started a fundraising Facebook Group page www.Facebook.com/MrBlueFundraising/inf to raise funds and hopefully purchase an electric wheelchair for Mr. Blue. With an electric wheelchair he will be able to purchase groceries, get his medication at the local pharmacy and simply move around town with less difficulty.

We are happy to announce that we have met our initial fundraising goal! Ed was able to find a nearly-new chair on Craig’s list that had been in storage and unused for over a year. With fresh batteries installed, Ed just recently delivered the “new wheels” to Mr. Blue along with a brand new pair of shoes dontated by another helpful friend.

According to Ed, “He must have said ‘Thank you’ a dozen times. When he first drove it he was a little nervous, but he quickly learned. We took a “walk” around the neighborhood and talked about his health and new home. It was pretty awesome to see him move around on his own.”

While feeling a bit better, Mr. Blue is still in poor health and can use any help any friends and neighbors can supply: toiletries, shoes and of course food. Follow Ed’s interactions with Mr. Blue on the Facebook page. If you would like to help, please respond on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/277422832347260/

Thank you Burton friends and families!
